nose details

dearest becca and roommates of becca (whom i love and yet haven't seen for WaY too long . . . ),

here is the story about the nose:
at my school, all the students are picked up by parents. there is no bus. thus, i have car pool duty in which i stand at a location and make sure kids and parents are being safe. my spot is at the end of the junior high building. there are lots of the crazy 7th and 8th graders that hang out and wait there.

there is a lot of bark chips in a flower box next between the building and the sidewalk (not the wisest planning . . . like kids don't play in those, but whatever). we have been reminded to no allow students to play or walk through this bark chip area. seeing as i am where the punk semi-teenagers are (again, people whom i dearly love otherwise i wouldn't be there, but nonetheless, they are punks), it has almost become a joke.

when one of the kids decides to walk through the chips, i promptly make them do "laps" up and down the 4 stairs to the door and back. on tuesday, one of my favorite students decided not only to walk through, but to kick bark everywhere. i made him do laps and then figure out how to clean it up. i told him to find a broom or something. i didn't think he would - i had never seen a broom. but, shockingly he found a broom and started cleaning up.

i was standing on the sidewalk. when he finished, he raced up the stairs before i could make him do more. i told him to hand me the broom so i could. and just then, another student, to my left, asked me a question. i turned and was talking to the other student. the first student (unbeknown to me) hollered that he was going to throw the broom to me, and did. but, as i was turned and talking to a student, i had no idea what happened until everything went black and i covered my face with my hands.

i didn't faint or pace out, but i couldn't open my eyes for a minute. everyone started freaking out and i felt liquid coming between my hands. the blood gushed and gushed and stained the sidewalk. when my friend, mrs. young - the science teacher and mother of two boys, came out, she had me sit down. blood went down my throat. kids ran to get ice and tissues. they were all soo good.

it finally started slowing down and we went to the office to figure out a way to hold the ice on my nose while i drove. thus - the pictures. we had gauze wrapped around, but it didn't work, so i just held the ice and drove with my knee a bit while i called my mom and cried!!

she suggested i go to the doctor. so after 3 hours, we found out it wasn't broken, but i had some good drugs for the pain.

BUT the bruise is almost not-even noticeable!!!!!! ugh!!! what's the point of having soooo much pain, without having the black eyes to show it??? i was and obviously still, am very frustrated!! =)

love, me

my parents think they are soo funny! i was suppose to go with them tonight to the BYU Men's Chorus concert. Becca's "friend" is in the choir. i have been so excited to attend. i never went to one while i was at BYU. lame. so stupid. not only is becca's good friend that we really enjoy in the choir, but so is one of my favorite former students!! austin was a 6th grader my first year teaching at geneva. i wanted to be there tonight to be both he and robert's cheerleader.
but, i am on my upteenth cold. after the busted nose,
and a tragically hard day yesterday, i am sick. so, mom and dad just went. mom got ready with her beautiful turquoise turtle neck, her eyes popping. i was wearing a fun turquoise flower that a student made for me (when she found out that i was going on my first date with eric!), so i told mom to put it on. then, i gave her the scarf i was wearing - which happened to match her purse PeRfECtLy! then, i made her switch her cardigan to one that was a little more hip, that i had been wearing . . . and took my belt off too. she looked fabulous! but then dad got a little jealous. he wanted a "scarffy-thing" too. so he went to the closet in found what he could. we took a few pictures - and then dad realized he had matching glasses!! we had to take some more! how wonderful and fun are my parents!!??

grading papers while "watching" the final scrimmage basketball game . . .
as we drove to st. george 2 weekends ago, the girls were loving the princess and the pauper barbie movie! as did my mama! the girls started singing along!

boise . . . is my new heaven. and the Griddle in our new heaven!!

stolen from becca's camera . . .

although i don't have the pics right now, i have a lovely black nose - and most likely an eye or two. a little mishap today after school produced a gushing of blood. the sidewalk at early light academy will be permanently stained with miss snyder's blood (although we told all the little kids walking by that it was jello!!).  i am sluffing the Relief Society meeting tonight - which makes me really sad - i so love being with my ward. they are some of the greatest and dearest friends i have ever known (and i'm sure there are a few ladies that would like some updates of my life). but alas, i am home just awaiting the moment i need to take the perxiset (like i have ANY idea how to spell that!) the doctor told me i would be needing at any second. hooray.

while, i was waiting, i checked my email and noticed that on the home computer, there was an adorable picture of miss tillie mae. so i raided the computer to find some pics that becca took a few weekends ago. these include: melissa and becca's NEW FABRIC LINE!!!, the new house in st. george, calvin's blessing, stopping at grandma's and grandpa's after the first weekend in the st. george house (of which i wasn't there!! i raced back to alpine to teach gospel essentials! ugh), and then the precious babes!!

really like this picture. and this guy . . .

eric just sent me these pictures from his mom. it was fun to have a little photo shoot. :) we were chatting as i looked through them and i said, "who - in high school -  would have ever thought we would be dating??" we both laughed and realized (within seconds) that no one, including us, would have put us together. and yet, here we are!!

here is another . . .
i love clara's face in this. and i love how she is holding me hand. she is wonderful. and obviously, millie was kind of done at this point, but she was a trooper!!

off to bed - it's just 11:04pm. i am more than slightly frustrated that eric introduced me to The Hunger Games and Chasing Fire. Ugh. i have stayed up way too late the last few weeks reading. ugh!!
